Θεματολογία Σεμιναρίου:

 

1^η ημέρα

“BRIDGING THE GRAMMAR GAP“, S. Antonaros

Our knowledge of English grammar is ever increasing, but is never quite complete! We will discuss how to provide our students with classroom opportunities to use and experiment with the English language. Practical suggestions for presenting grammar points briefly and clearly and setting up situations in which students can practice using the structures you want them to learn.

2^η ημέρα

“THE DICTIONARY: LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT & LEARNER

     AUTONOMY”, L. Couri

 

Our learners’ progress and success in FL acquisition depend on self-confidence and on their ability to become independent and self-teaching individuals.  Discussion of techniques which help make the dictionary a valuable and exciting resource book which can be used actively along with the course book. Demonstrations of activities which add variety, save time and help learners deal with unknown vocabulary items or with difficult idiomatic language. (Participants required to bring their monolingual dictionaries)

“INTERACTION IN THE CLASSROOM :  THE ONLY WAY TO

      PREPARE”, S. Antonaros

Tips on organizing exam preparation in class:

*  Interactive exercises to motivate your learners to express themselves

confidently,

*  Drama activities to improve their awareness of language functions used in

everyday social situations,

*  Practical suggestions for teachers on the use of recorded material and

visual stimuli.

2. “TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES AND THE MULTICULTURAL

     CLASSROOM”, L. Couri

Language is one of the best vehicles to learn about, discover, and accept

culture in our personal micro-cosm. We will use cultural-awareness

activities which bring out the most standard elements of culture, such as

products, ideas and behaviors and which help our learners to contextualize

vocabulary items and motivate them to practice speaking and writing. We

will share activities which help teachers and learners become aware of the

presence of culture and of its enlightening and “healing” power.
